Onsite – Blacksburg, VA To be considered for a Senior Industrial Electrician role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

• High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Licensed Journeyman or willingness to pursue
• At least 5 years related experience working with electrical contractor or in industrial environment or combination of education and experience
• Requires the ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally and comfortable working with and on ladders.

As a Senior Industrial Electrician, you will

• Maintains equipment and performs preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Dismantles machines or equipment, replaces defective parts and motors, and adjusts feed mechanisms.
• Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.
• Replaces or repairs machine belts.
• Removes dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.
• Paints machines or equipment to prevent corrosion.
• Bends and cuts conduit and wire, and drills holes in walls, floors, and ceilings for electrical connections.
• Connects wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses, and splices wire and insulates wire with friction tape.
