Low Voltage Technician

Duties

• Install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including CCTV surveillance, fiber optic cabling, network wiring (Cat5, Cat6), and telecommunication systems.
• Perform fiber splicing and cable management to ensure optimal connectivity and system performance.
• Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and network analyzers to identify and resolve electrical or network issues.
• Conduct network installation tasks involving Ethernet cabling, Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, and VoIP systems to establish reliable communication networks.
• Read schematics and technical diagrams accurately to guide installation and repair procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on low voltage equipment within data centers, telephony systems (including Avaya), and electrical systems (AC/DC).
• Utilize power tools and hand tools safely for equipment installation, wiring, and repairs while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
• Test radio frequency (RF) signals for telecommunication applications and perform LAN testing to verify network integrity.
• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients about system status, troubleshooting steps, and maintenance needs.
