Lead Electrician

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Electrician to oversee and work on custom residential electrical projects. We do new construction, remodeling and service work. Preference is given to electricians with a licence and who feel that it is important to teach the next generation - our apprentices are in school or finished and preparing to take their test. We also maintain and good and positive attitude on the team, so it will be important to have a good and positive attitude to match!

Duties

• Lead and coordinate electrical installation, maintenance, and repair activities on construction sites and renovation projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute precise electrical work.
• Supervise and mentor team members, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair low voltage and high voltage electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters.
• Manage the installation of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for industrial automation processes.
• Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other trades like frame carpentry to coordinate seamless project execution.
• Conduct inspections on completed work to verify safety standards are met before project handover.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a strong background in construction site environments.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems including low voltage, high voltage, schematics, and blueprint reading.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment essential for electrical troubleshooting.
