Lead Commercial Electrician

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Commercial Electrician to oversee electrical projects within commercial settings. The Lead Commercial Electrician is responsible for overseeing and performing the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems in commercial construction and service environments. This role supervises electrical crews, coordinates daily job-site activities, ensures compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes, and works closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and mentor electricians, and helpers on commercial job sites.
• Plan, coordinate, and assign daily work activities to ensure project schedules are met.
• Install, maintain, and repair commercial electrical systems, including conduit, wiring, panels, switchgear, lighting, and control systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, specifications, and construction documents.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure all work complies with local, state, and National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
• Conduct quality control inspections to verify workmanship and code compliance.
• Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, inspectors, and other trades.
• Order, track, and manage materials, tools, and equipment required for projects.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and time records.
• Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and progress meetings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5–10 years of commercial electrical experience.
