Class 2 Electrician

Responsible for the installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures according to VFP standards.

• Must possess knowledge of applicable electrical codes
• Must have the ability to interpret engineering drawings
• Must provide working leadership to others in the department
• Must offers suggestions for products, manufacturing procedures, and documentation improvements
• Must interpret control prints and hook-up all controls
• Perform Electrician B job duties when needed
• Must have the ability to read blueprints with minimal assistance
• Must have the ability to run conduit, install wireway, wire AC units and install lighting fixtures
• Must have the ability to mount and hook-up transfer switches and wire generators
• Must have the ability to install load centers, EVC boxes, and drill holes
• Must be able to climb ladders
• Must maintain good housekeeping practices to include keeping the work area clean and neat and make sure aisles are clear of equipment, cords, tow motors, etc.
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills

• Ability to effectively present information to customers and other employees
• Ability to perform basic mathematical formulas
• Ability to understand and follow instructions given verbally, written, or in diagram form
• Knowledge of the occupational hazards of the electrical trade and necessary safety precautions
• Skill in the use and care of tools and/or equipment

Pay Range $16.50 - $25.00

• High school diploma or general education diploma (GED). Associate’s Degree or Certificate preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years
