Low Voltage Technician

Responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing A/V and security infrastructure in a low voltage environment. The ideal candidate will be able to meet the physical demands of the worksite as well as provide excellent customer service.

Essential Job Functions

• Installs A/V and security equipment per the plans provided for the specific application.
• Maintain professional attitude with emphasis on safety and customer service.
• Hang, mount, rack, install, and rig equipment per plans and specifications.
• Read and Interpret manuals, construction drawings, wiring diagrams, floorplans, and specifications .
• Properly sets up a variety of testers (fiber and copper).
• Performs system testing and troubleshooting as required.
• Terminates, labels, tests, and troubleshoots optical fiber and copper installations.
• Mount face plates and surface mount boxes correctly.
• Builds closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware).
• Responsible for meeting deadlines and managing materials and tools.
• Responsible for completing daily timesheets and job documentation.
• Other duties assigned by management

Required Job Skills

• Able to lift heavy objects, work on construction sites
• Able to use hand tools: screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, wrench set, cable stripper, flashlight and gloves
• Punctual and Dependable
• Effective Communications
• Able to distinguish color codes
• 1+ years construction, cabling,A/V, or physical security experience preferred
• Exhibit a positive attitude
