Journeyman Electrician

Woodman Controls Company is currently hiring a Journeyman Electrician to join our team in Eastern Iowa. We are seeking innovative and self-motivated candidates who are committed to delivering exceptional customer service.

What You’ll Do

• Primarily work in commercial and/or industrial settings doing Building Automation wiring.
• Analyze blueprints, schematics, and electrical system drawings to determine installation methods for wiring and conduit in compliance with NEC and local codes.
• Install conduit, fixtures, and equipment to provide enhanced or upgraded Building Automation Systems.
• Complete layout and installation of Building Automation Systems.
• Install and support cable trays and pull cable tray wiring.
• Terminate panels according to drawings in a neat and professional manner.
• Manage project installations, checking for accuracy and project completion, and processing paperwork promptly.
• Ensure job site safety by adhering to all safety procedures, conducting safety meetings and toolbox chats, and promoting a culture of safe work practices.
• Participate in continuing education to maintain current knowledge of industry trends and meet certification requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support project and team success.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong communication skills and personable demeanor.
• HVAC knowledge and prior experience in controls programming and networking (Tridium preferred).
• Strong background in commercial troubleshooting.
• Adaptability to changing work environments.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Proven experience as a skilled electrician, particularly on small to medium-sized teams.
• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and safety regulations.
• Current State of Iowa Class A Journeyman License.
