Journeyman Electrician

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and renovation settings using hand tools and power tools.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and system layouts.
• Perform electrical diagnostics to identify faults or issues within complex electrical circuits and systems.
• Ensure all work complies with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and local electrical codes for safety and quality assurance.
• Handle high-voltage electrical wiring safely while adhering to electrical safety procedures and protocols.
• Install programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems integral to automation processes.
• Conduct high voltage testing and troubleshooting using specialized equipment such as ohmmeters.
• Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate installation activities, including frame carpentry and schematic interpretation.
• Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including incident reports, inspection logs, and compliance records.
• Follow all safety procedures rigorously to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
