Journeyman Electrician

Duties

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including high-voltage wiring, low-voltage systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) across commercial and industrial sites.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring layouts and system configurations.
• Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults and determine appropriate solutions.
• Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and safety procedures related to electrical systems.
• Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely while managing complex projects involving renovation or new construction.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment effectively to complete installation and maintenance tasks efficiently.
• Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical work with framing carpentry, schematics interpretation, and other trades as needed.

Requirements

• Valid journeyman electrician license with proven experience in industrial or commercial electrical work.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems including low voltage wiring, high voltage applications, and electrical blueprint reading.
