Journeyman Electrician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical work, including installation, maintenance, and renovation of electrical systems in various settings. This role requires a strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the ability to read and interpret schematics. The Journeyperson Electrician will work primarily on construction sites, focusing on both commercial projects and low voltage systems.

Duties

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in compliance with NEC standards.
• Renovate existing electrical installations to improve efficiency and safety.
• Use hand tools and specialized equipment, including ohmmeters, to troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine wiring layouts and specifications.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure project completion within deadlines.
• Conduct inspections of electrical systems to ensure they meet safety regulations and operational standards.
• Install and maintain logic controllers for automated systems as needed.

Skills

• Proficient in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety regulations.
• Experience working with low voltage systems is preferred.
• Ability to effectively use hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters.
• Familiarity with reading schematics and blueprints for electrical systems.
• Previous experience as a commercial electrician is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
