Journeyman Electrician

Duties

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings using schematics and technical manuals
• Operate testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues accurately
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings to ensure precise installations
• Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and facilities to minimize downtime
• Supervise apprentices or junior technicians during projects, providing guidance on safety procedures and technical tasks
• Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to document work orders, maintenance history, and inventory management
• Perform welding tasks when necessary for electrical system repairs or modifications
• Support facilities maintenance activities including troubleshooting mechanical components related to electrical systems
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards and electrical codes during installation and repairs

Experience

• Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in electrical installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Demonstrated knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and electrical wiring practices
• Experience with welding techniques relevant to electrical work is preferred
