Experienced Electrician for Oil & Gas Industry

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, particularly in industrial settings. This role involves working with high voltage systems, reading piping and instrument diagrams, and performing renovations and installations. The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical components are functioning efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and maintain electrical systems and equipment in oil and gas facilities.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, piping and instrument diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Ensure all electrical work meets industry codes and safety standards. Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards during all work performed.
• Diagnose and repair electrical issues efficiently.
• Work in collaboration with engineers, technicians, and safety personnel.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
• Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment, such as ohmmeters, to complete tasks effectively.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople, including handymen, to complete projects on time.

Requirements

• Licensed Electrician with oil and gas industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hazardous location wiring (NEC, IEC, or ATEX standards).
• Experience with motors, transformers, control panels, and instrumentation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work in high-risk environments.
• Willingness to work in remote locations and adapt to challenging conditions.
• OSHA, H2S, and other relevant safety certifications are a plus.
