The Stockton Port District is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Electrician.

This is a Journeyman-level classification, which under general supervision performs installation, maintenance,troubleshooting and diagnostic work on a variety of electrical equipment, including cranes.

Note: Effective July 1, 2026 the hourly rate for this position will be $44.53.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Examples of Duties:* Inspects, maintains, repairs, installs, and tests AC and DC electrical systems and equipment, including electrical circuits, transformers, switches, light fixtures, 3 phase motor control systems up to 480v, motors, generators, outlets, control panels, CCTV Cameras and communication networks. * Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. * Installs conduit and pull wire for motors, control panels, light fixtures, and outlets. * May perform cable splices of varying complexity including fiber optics. * Provides cost estimates for labor, material, and supplies required to perform a specific assignment. * Performs phase balancing operations and load computations on a variety of electrical circuits. * Performs other duties as assigned. * Review full job description for complete list of duties by clicking here.
