Technician/Industrial Electrician

Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Service Manager, with little or no supervision, the employee shall perform highly skilled work in the repairing, reconditioning, testing, installing and adjusting of all equipment sold by Starr and Company, Inc. Potential equipment that technicians would be working on: air compressors, air dryers, boilers, burners, hot water heaters, hoists/cranes and/or booster pumps. Some travel may be required (company paid).

Shift Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm. Over-time and travel available!

Essential Functions

• Remove, install, recondition, repair industrial equipment and make necessary adjustments as well as to the components in the various systems, such as water pumps, fuel pumps, compressors coolers and electronic controls.
• Perform diagnostic tests on industrial equipment.
• Trouble shoot, repair, install, recondition electrical controls and power supply from low voltage DC to high voltage AC.
• Must be able to determine proper wire size for anticipated loads.
• Run conduit to applicable codes.
• Must be able to meet flat rate as established by industry standards.
• Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.

Education, Experience and Skill Required

• Must have a High School diploma or have a GED
• Must read, write and speak English
• Must own hand tools that are suitable to perform the work noted above
• Must have a valid Hawaii Drivers License, with good driving record
• Must be forklift certified or able to be certified within 60 days of hire
• At least 3 year of experience preferred.
