Residential / Small Commercial Service Electrician

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Residential / Small Commercial Service Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and installing electrical systems in residential homes and small commercial properties. Your expertise will ensure safe, efficient, and compliant electrical solutions that meet customer needs and adhere to all safety standards. Duties

• Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as multi meters and power tools to identify issues within electrical systems.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, outlets, switches, panels, and lighting fixtures in residential and small commercial settings.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and schematics to accurately execute installation and repair tasks.
• Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and electrical safety procedures.
• Handle high-voltage electrical wiring safely during installations or repairs involving high-voltage systems.
• Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or code violations; document findings thoroughly.
• Collaborate with clients to assess their electrical needs and provide expert recommendations for upgrades or renovations. Provide quotes and have the ability to explain in "simple" terms to the customer
• Utilize hand tools and construction site experience to efficiently complete projects while maintaining safety protocols.
• Assist with low voltage wiring projects such as security systems or communication networks when required.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed for each project.

Skills

• Proven experience as a residential and small commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70 compliance standards, NEC regulations, and local electrical codes is essential for safe operations.
• Skilled in electrical blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and schematic diagram analysis.
• Ability to perform high-voltage wiring safely while adhering to all safety procedures; experience with high voltage is preferred.
• Strong diagnostic skills using electrical testing equipment such as ohmmeters; capable of identifying complex issues efficiently.
• Experience with construction site work including renovation projects; capable of framing carpentry or handyman tasks is advantageous.
• Excellent hand tool proficiency along with power tools operation for various installation tasks.
• Effective communication skills to explain technical information clearly to clients; team-oriented with collaborative spirit.

Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour
