SUMMARY

Under direct supervision of the Assistant Water Production Superintendent, this position is primarily responsible for electrical work for the Utilities Department but may assist others as assigned. Positions must be available to work extended hours, callbacks, evenings, weekends, holidays and during inclement weather. Position is considered essential personnel.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs the scheduled preventative maintenance, unscheduled routine, and emergency installation, troubleshooting, and repair and correction of electrical problems affecting the water and wastewater facilities.
• On occasions perform installation and bending of EMT and Rigid conduit, pulling wire, and wiring / unwiring electrical components and devices.
• Maintains and coordinates daily work schedule to meet goals.
• Manages workload for the Chief Electrician.
• Directs work through the Chief Electrician for daily performance and schedules.
• Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs 480v & 2300v switchgear, motor control systems, power systems and emergency power systems.
• Performs scheduled, unscheduled and emergency installations and corrections of issues affecting water and wastewater facilities.
• Works within the parameters of an overall work schedule and keeps supervisor informed of any delays in the schedule caused by frequent unscheduled and/or emergency requests for his/her time.
