Purpose and Scope

The Marine Electrician (Journeyman) performs skilled electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repair work on marine vessels. This position requires strong technical knowledge of DC and AC electrical systems, marine wiring standards, and diagnostic procedures. The Journeyman works independently or as part of a team to ensure all electrical systems are safe, compliant, and reliable.

Orange County, California (Costa Mesa) DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES* Install, maintain, and repair DC and AC electrical systems, including batteries, panels, inverters, and generators. * Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults using diagrams, test meters, and diagnostic tools. * Perform installations of navigation, communication, and charging systems per ABYC standards. * Inspect and maintain wiring, terminals, and connections to ensure compliance and safety. * Collaborate with other departments and technicians on vessel projects and retrofits. * Provide guidance and on-the-job training to apprentices and junior technicians. * Maintain accurate work records, material usage, and time documentation. * Adhere to company safety and quality standards in all work performed.
