Journeyman Electrician

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical work, including both low and high voltage systems. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprint reading, the ability to operate various power tools, and a commitment to safety on construction sites. As a Journeyperson, you will be responsible for executing electrical installations and repairs in commercial settings while ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards.

Responsibilities

- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with blueprints and specifications. - Work with both low voltage and high voltage electrical systems as required. - Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively to complete tasks efficiently. - Conduct inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues or areas for improvement. - Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure project timelines are met. - Read and interpret blueprints to understand project requirements and specifications. - Use voltmeters and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electrical problems. - Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with local codes and regulations.

Qualifications

- Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician or Commercial Electrician is preferred. - Strong knowledge of low voltage and high voltage systems. - Proficiency in blueprint reading is essential. - Familiarity with power tools, voltmeters, and other electrical testing equipment. - Ability to work effectively on construction sites as part of a team or independently. - A maintenance person background is a plus, showcasing versatility in various trades. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are required. - Must possess relevant certifications or licenses as mandated by local regulations.
