Journeyman Electrician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our Local union. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various facilities. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, and mechanical components. Duties

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals
• Maintain and repair electrical equipment including motors, switchgear, circuit breakers, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
• Use testing tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to diagnose electrical issues accurately
• Supervise junior technicians or apprentices during complex repair projects while ensuring safety protocols are followed
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation for various systems
• Lead safety inspections and ensure compliance with electrical codes and regulations

Requirements

• Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification with proven electrical experience in commercial or industrial settings
• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing or facilities maintenance environments
• Hands-on experience with electrical equipment repair, troubleshooting, and installation procedures
• Proficiency in working with schematics, wiring diagrams, PLCs, and control systems
• Ability to operate testing tools such as ohmmeters effectively for diagnostics
