R&D Maintenance Services, Inc. provides operations and maintenance services on U.S Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects throughout the southeast - since 1980. We are the Operations and Maintenance Contractor for the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway Project providing machinery and facility maintenance and repair on nearly 200 miles of waterway and 10 locks/dams/spillways on the system. Position is based in Columbus, MS. R&D is an EEO Employer.

General Description

Performs the full range of electrical work including inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of complex electrical and electromechanical systems that operate river navigation, flood control, Work includes (but is not limited to): maintaining, repairing, or installing electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit/wiring systems, or other transmission equipment; working from schematics, drawings, layouts, or other specifications; locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment; completing standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment; and using a variety of standard and specialized hand and power tools and measuring/testing instruments; minimizing equipment downtime by resolving hardware issues and conducting routine preventative maintenance on power distribution equipment, motors, drives, sensors, and controllers.ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS:* Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces electrical equipment including electric motors, electric circuits, conduit, wiring transformers, generators, lights, fixtures, bulbs, tubes, motor control systems and meters. * Performs preventive maintenance on electrical equipment from 110v to 460v 3-phase systems including motor control...
