Electrician (service work)

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and schematics.
• Install, maintain, and upgrade electrical wiring, panels, fixtures, and equipment in commercial and industrial environments.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute installation and repair tasks.
• Work safely on construction sites or renovation projects while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and low/high voltage safety protocols.
• Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other control systems for industrial electrician tasks.
• Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues before they escalate.
• Collaborate with construction teams or handyman personnel on framing carpentry or related tasks when needed.
• Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations, including NEC standards for low voltage and high voltage systems.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and system conditions for future reference.

Experience

• Proven experience as an electrician in industrial or commercial settings with a focus on service work.
