General Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial or institutional electrical construction, with at least 2 years on federal or healthcare facility projects. Familiarity with VA Master Specifications, NFPA 70 (NEC), and federal safety protocols is essential.

Functional Responsibility

Perform skilled electrical work on a federal construction site, including installation, maintenance, and inspection of electrical and Telecommunications systems in accordance with VA specifications and federal standards. Responsibilities include:

• Installing EMT, RMC, and PVC conduit systems across multiple floors and fire-rated assemblies
• Supporting low-voltage systems (fire alarm, nurse call, access control) in coordination with specialty trades
• Installing cable tray, conduit, and support systems for low-voltage telecommunications equipment
• Reading and interpreting telecom plans, electrical one-lines, riser diagrams, and VA construction drawings
• Ensuring all work complies with NEC, VA design guides, and infection control risk assessment (ICRA) protocols
