SUMMARY

A skilled position which involves the repair, installation and general maintenance of electrical equipment. This position will require the ability to work independently. The employee is required to have a valid Alabama driver's license.

QUALIFICATIONS

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least three years related experience. * General knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions associated with the electrical trade. * Knowledge of the state and local electrical and building codes. * Working knowledge of the standard practices, methods, materials, and tools of the electrical trade. * Ability to perform work requiring mechanical aptitude. * Ability to read and work from schematics and blueprints. * Ability to read, write, and understand routine non-technical instructions. * Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. * Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. SALARY LEVEL: 11

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the system’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system.

REQUIRED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Assists with the repair and general maintenance of electrical fixtures, panels, motors, and equipment such as 120-208-240 single and three phase/ 480-550 three phase. * Make accurate time and material estimates. * Cleans and properly stores tools and equipment after use. * Maintains and exhibits a high level of ethical and professional standards as expected of all personnel. * Participates in in-service training as assigned. * Other duties being assigned as necessary.
