Position Description

This position maintains, repairs, modifies, and installs electrical/instrument/computer systems in a wood products manufacturing facility to ensure optimal operations and product flow.

Position Responsibilities

• Ability to work in a safe manner and comply with all policies and regulations.
• Possess good troubleshooting skills with the ability to repair electrical problems occurring during manufacturing processes.
• Work effectively and safely in a production environment, being flexible and completing deadlines on short notice.
• Must be a positive, proactive self-starter who works equally well alone as well as with others. Must have a desire to continually improve professionally and have a willingness to apply one’s knowledge and skills to the betterment of the operating unit.
• Work in any electrical related activity – for example conduit bracket fabrication, installing conduit, pulling wire, general troubleshooting.
• Communicate issues daily to the maintenance superintendent, operations supervisor, and other maintenance personnel.
• Write, update, and complete work orders as needed.
• Able to learn new technology as it is introduced on the plant site and be able to transfer the knowledge to others, including supervision, production, and maintenance personnel.
• Must be familiar with instrument calibration.
• Must be familiar with computer hardware and software.
• Follow and promote plant site electrical and process control standards.
• Wear/use a variety of personal protective and safety equipment per company standards.
• Familiar with reading 3-view working drawings and schematics.

Position Requirements

• Ability to check and repair all types of AC circuits to 480 volts (3-phase, single phase, motor controls, motor troubleshooting, and basic control circuits using relay or PLC logic).
