Certified Industrial Electrician Job Summary The Certified Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a wastewater treatment facility. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems to support continuous production and facility operations while complying with all safety regulations and electrical codes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Install, maintain, inspect, and repair industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, motors, controls, lighting, and instrumentation Troubleshoot electrical issues involving PLCs, VFDs, MCCs, sensors, and automated systems Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, ladder logic diagrams, and technical manuals Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability Test electrical systems using appropriate tools (multimeters, megohmmeters, thermal cameras, etc.) Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety policies Lockout/tagout (LOTO) equipment prior to performing maintenance or repairs Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to resolve equipment issues Document work performed, parts used, and maintenance activities in CMMS or maintenance logs Assist with equipment upgrades, retrofits, and new installations Respond to emergency electrical issues during production or off-hours as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations Participate in safety training and audits Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses immediately
