Signal Electricians perform highly skilled electrical work, including the maintenance, repair, installation, and modification of traffic signals, controllers, and related equipment. Work is performed both in the field and in the shop, often in fast-paced and dynamic environments. The position includes weekly on-call rotations and responsibilities during snow removal operations, offering opportunities to demonstrate critical problem-solving skills under varying conditions. Compensation will be based on individual experience and determined at hire based on skills. The salary range for this position is $29.69– 35.29 hourly. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES * Replaces bulbs, cleans lenses, adjusts signal heads, and services fixed-time, electromechanical and solid-state controllers, maintain & repair communications equipment. * Checks and repairs field wiring and loop detector amplifier units. * Checks and installs loop wire in pavement. * Installs and maintains new traffic signals and controllers. * Erects poles, installs detector wires in road surfaces, and installs signal heads; installs permanent traffic counters; repairs defective or damaged equipment. * May train others in the installation of some signal related equipment. * These...
