JOB

This is supervisory electrical and electronic repair and installation work requiring considerable skill and mechanical ability in the maintenance of electrical equipment and machinery. Assignments are received orally or in writing, and except on new or difficult technical assignments, the employee works independently and determines methods and procedures for completing work. Work may include supervision of helpers and/or maintenance crews. Workdays and Hours - Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES * Repairs and/or modifies existing electrically operated equipment; replaces lamps and ballasts; installs new electrical circuits or modifies existing circuits. * Works near high voltage repairing electrical equipment. * Uses testing equipment such as oscilloscope, volt, am, and ohm meters to diagnose electrical problems. * Conducts preventive maintenance evaluations such as checking for loose connections and/or fuses. * Completion of work assignments will require the operation of a vehicle. * These examples are not intended to be all-inclusive. Other related duties may be assigned as needed.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Required Experience and Training* Three years of experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic systems and equipment. * Ability to obtain City of Wichita approved and registered journeyman electrical certificate within Six months of hire. * A valid driver’s license. * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of a sponsorship.
