Service Electrician

Our mission is to deliver outstanding performance and exceptional customer service on commercial projects. Service Call Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing and maintaining electrical systems while representing HelmCo professionally on job sites.

Role and responsibilities

: As a Commercial Service Call Technician you will respond to daily service calls, troubleshoot electrical problems, read and follow blueprints and wiring diagrams, and perform installations and repairs to wiring, fixtures, panels, conduit and related equipment in commercialbuildings. You will use testing devices and digital tools to diagnose issues, complete accurate paperwork and provide clear communication to supervisors, customers and property managers. Technicians must maintain a safe work environment, follow company procedures and CALOSHA & OSHA guidelines, participate in weekly safety meetings, and assist foremen with material lists and project tasks when needed.

Work schedule and physical demands

: Start times vary. The role may require overtime, weekend work and availability for emergency calls. Technicians should be able to lift and carry materials (minimum 50 pounds), work at heights using ladders and lifts, stand and work on their feet for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping and handling materials.

Qualifications and skills

: We prefer candidates with 7–10 years of electrical experience, ideally in service work. A high school diploma and proof of required certifications (General Electrician (GE) card or Electrician Trainee (ET) card where applicable) are required.
