Service Electrician

Duties

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems on commercial and industrial sites using hand tools and power tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of low voltage and high voltage systems.
• Conduct routine inspections of electrical components, including testing with ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools to ensure safety and compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
• Assist customers by providing expert advice on electrical upgrades, renovations, and system improvements to meet their operational needs.
• Perform schematic wiring, framing carpentry tasks, and basic handyman duties related to electrical projects on construction sites.
• Use Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to troubleshoot automation systems in industrial settings.
• Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports and schematic updates.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an electrician in industrial or commercial environments with a strong understanding of NEC regulations.
• Hands-on experience with low voltage and high voltage electrical systems across construction sites or renovation projects.
• Skilled in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams; familiarity with industrial control systems is a plus.
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment essential for electrical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, and automation system troubleshooting.
• Ability to work safely at heights or on scaffolding; construction site experience is highly valued.
• Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
• Valid electrician license or certification as required by local regulations; additional certifications in high voltage or NEC compliance are advantageous.
