Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 1st shift Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician at our Piedmont, SC manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, or replacing, mechanical equipment or mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical devices and components; and fabricate any mechanical devices or item requiring shop skills or tools as requested.

As the Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician, you will be expected to be in constant communication with department managers and employees to coordinate mechanical and electrical repairs. Major challenges include working independently on very involved and complex jobs. Works in a normal production/maintenance environment with exposure to temperature changes and some unpleasant working conditions.

Your additional responsibilities as Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician will include

* Perform basic plumbing and electrical repair on machinery and/or equipment. * Perform preventative maintenance on equipment. * Assemble and disassemble equipment. * Weld and use a cutting torch, plasma cutter, cut-off saw, and machine-shop equipment. * Report conditions encountered that may affect the operation of the equipment. * Train Class "B" Mechanics and/or mechanic helpers. * Fabricate any mechanical assembly, install and make operational. *...
