Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician at our Longview manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, or replacing mechanical equipment or mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical devices and components. Additionally, the Mechanic will often fabricate any mechanical devices or items which will requiring shop skills or tools as requested. The successful candidate will communicate continuously with department managers and employees to coordinate mechanical and electrical repairs.

Additional responsibilities of the Maintenance, Mechanic/Electrician

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of conveyor systems and components, belts, bearing, sprockets, gear reducers
• Hand tool knowledge, welding, cutting, minor fabrication
• Timely communication of problems and issues affecting plant performance to management
• Demonstrate the ability to perform work independently (work alone)
• Perform basic plumbing on machinery and/or equipment
• Communicate with and maintain a team-based attitude with fellow co-workers and managers
• Maintain plant fire system
• Document calibration and configuration procedures required to allow production equipment to run efficiently within product specifications

Requirements and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
