Low Voltage Technician

Duties

• Install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including CCTV, fiber optic cabling, network wiring, VoIP telephony, and data communication networks
• Perform fiber splicing and cable management for structured cabling projects using hand tools and diagnostic equipment
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately install and repair electrical systems
• Conduct network installation tasks involving Ethernet cabling (Cat5, Cat6), Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, and network switches
• Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, RF testers, and power tools to identify issues and ensure system integrity
• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on telecommunication equipment including Avaya systems and other telephony hardware
• Collaborate with clients to provide exceptional customer service by explaining system functions and resolving technical issues efficiently

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or Service Technician in telecommunications or electrical systems
• Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, NEC standards, LAN/WAN networks, and computer hardware fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with CCTV installation, fiber splicing, network wiring (Cat5/Cat6), and telecommunication systems such as VoIP and radio frequency testing
