Position Overview

ASAP is seeking an experienced, highly skilled Low Voltage Technician with deep expertise in fire alarm and access control systems. This senior field role focuses on advanced installations, system commissioning, troubleshooting, and project leadership on commercial and institutional sites. Travel to customer sites is required (never on weekends). Company truck, laptop, and cell phone provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of fire alarm systems (panels, detectors, NACs, interfaces) and enterprise access control systems (controllers, readers, credentials, integrations).
• Perform complex troubleshooting, root-cause diagnostics, and repairs for life‑safety systems and access control networks.
• Read and interpret plans, riser diagrams, Schedules of Values, and system integration documents; verify as‑installed documentation.
• Ensure installations meet NFPA, NEC, ADA, manufacturer requirements, and local/state fire codes; prepare punch lists and correct deficiencies.
• Program control panels, NACs, access control software, and integrate systems (fire-to-access, CCTV, mass notification) as required.
• Lead or mentor junior technicians on-site; provide direction on best practices, wiring standards, and safety.
• Coordinate with project managers, AHJs, and electrical contractors to schedule inspections, testing, and acceptance.
