Journeyman Electrician

Job Title: Journeyman / Master Electrician

Overview

Join Rise, a growing Pittsburgh contractor with busy and expanding electrical work. As we grow, we're building out our in-house electrical team and looking for a skilled electrician to play a key role — including helping survey and review jobs with our team and assisting in the bidding process. Master electrician license is a strong plus.

Duties

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and multifamily settings.
• Use ohmmeters, voltmeters, power tools, and hand tools to diagnose and fix electrical issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine the layout of electrical systems.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems using logic controllers and other diagnostic tools.
• Adhere to safety standards and regulations at all times.
• Assist in surveying and reviewing potential job sites and bids.
• Handle material takeoffs for your jobs.
• Mentor apprentices and provide guidance in their development.
• Serve as lead electrician on jobs requiring additional manpower.

Experience

• Proven experience as a journeyman electrician (master license a strong plus).
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship program.
• Familiarity with the NEC and building codes related to electrical work.
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory and practices.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Skills

• Proficiency with ohmmeters and voltmeters.
• Experience with logic controllers.
• Ability to build and troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Proficiency with power tools and hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics.
