Journeyman Electrician

As a Journeyman, you will be responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining electrical set ups. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct electrical apprentices to learn and progress through the trade.
• Follow the policies and procedures of Gutridge – including safety standards.
• Plan and layout work for themselves and craft workers working in their area.
• Install and terminate electrical wiring, fixtures, devices, and other materials.
• Terminate and set switchgear, panels, and other distribution equipment.
• Measure, cut and bend conduit
• Layout and install wiring circuits.
• Use power tools & hand tools for drilling and cutting.
• Pull/push wire through raceways, cable trays and other approved methods.
• Trace out short circuits in wiring and troubleshoot other electrical issues.
• Perform electrical repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
• Perform work in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC).
• Uses resources wisely.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, supplies and materials in an orderly fashion.
• Demonstrates the ability to adapt to changing priorities, including performing other duties for supervisor.
• Set daily goals and review them with supervisor and crew members daily.
• Ability to read meters.
• Provide own hand tools and some power tools (full required list outlined in employee handbook).
