Journeyman Electrician

Responsibilities

* Installs electrical components and electrical systems which comply with Local, State, and National codes. * Follows work “Layouts” and sketches as appropriate to assure the most cost and time effective approach is taken to complete work. * Troubleshoots electrical systems to diagnose problems in an expedient manner. * Communicates effectively with supervision in regard to any production roadblocks including electrical system installation problems and employee performance issues. * Works with supervisors to establish quality control procedures including monitoring and inspection of installed electrical components and electrical systems. * Ensures good housekeeping is maintained in all work areas and that all areas are cleaned after use and all tools have been put in their proper place for future use. * Participates in periodic safety training programs and follows all company safety practices related to or associated with electrical system activity. * Enters actual time worked by using all company provided documents in an accurate and complete manner. * Keeps tools and materials in a safe and secure (locked) location wherever possible at all times to eliminate theft. * Interacts in a professional manner with supervisors, clients, and other workers to maximize effectiveness in completing projects on time and within budget. * Actively participates in a process of “Self Development” through experience and by accepting new work assignments, which will target potential growth areas found on the “Electrician Knowledge and Skill Rating Table”.

Qualifications
