Journeyman Electrician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. Duties

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in accordance with local electrical codes, NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Code), and safety procedures.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and installation tasks.
• Perform high-voltage and low-voltage wiring for industrial machinery, commercial buildings, and construction projects using appropriate power tools and hand tools.
• Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot complex electrical systems efficiently.
• Install programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation components to support industrial operations.
• Conduct high-voltage electrical wiring work safely while adhering to NFPA 70 compliance standards.
• Collaborate with construction teams on site to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems during renovation or new build projects.
• Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports, schematics updates, and safety logs.
• Follow electrical safety procedures rigorously to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
• Utilize blueprint reading skills to interpret technical drawings accurately for installation or repair tasks.

Experience

• Proven experience as an electrician in industrial or commercial settings, with a strong understanding of electrical systems design and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams with precision.
• Hands-on experience with high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage electrical wiring in construction or renovation projects.
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems used in industrial environments.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and local electrical codes to ensure compliance across all work activities.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment essential for electrical diagnostics.
• Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects with a focus on safety protocols related to electrical work.
• Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately while following detailed instructions for installation or repairs.
• Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail in diagnosing electrical issues quickly and effectively.
