Summary of job duties

Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Fire Alarm installation, inspection, testing, and troubleshooting. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.

FUNCTIONAL JOB TASK ELEMENTS

Gathers tools and supplies to be used at work site including truck inventories/loading/unloading items as needed

Drive personal or company vehicle to transport tools, materials, equipment, and supplies to work site.

Successful completion of all required paper work, such as but not limited to: Packing slips, work order forms, vehicle maintenance slips, two week look ahead, change requests, timecards, information needed for monthly draws and material requisition/return sheets.

Assists in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.

Follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed and, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.

Inspect/Test systems and electrical parts/installed equipment and systems to detect hazards, defects and need for adjustments and repair.

Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools.

Traces out short circuits in wiring, using knowledge of wiring and test meter.
