Job Description
Position Overview
Desert Glow LLC is a commercial B2B energy services firm specializing in high-efficiency commercial LED lighting retrofits, panel upgrades, and preventative electrical maintenance across Southern Nevada.
We are seeking a highly experienced, licensed, and responsible certified professional to serve as our Qualified Employee (QE) / Principal Qualifier in full compliance with the Nevada State Contractors Board (NSCB). In this critical operational role, you will bind your technical credentials to the corporate entity, establishing the legal foundation for our bidding and field operations.
This position offers a hybrid schedule: a reliable monthly financial stipend to maintain corporate license compliance, coupled with high-earning hourly compensation for active, on-site project management, permitting, and technical supervision.
Key Responsibilities & Regulatory Deliverables
1. Licensing & Board Compliance (NSCB)
- Serve as the official Principal Qualifier / Qualified Employee (QE) for Desert Glow LLC, keeping your professional credentials bound to the company in good standing with the Nevada State Contractors Board.
- Assist the Managing Director in preparing, submitting, and maintaining all state, county, and municipal corporate electrical licensing applications.
- Ensure the business operates in strict accordance with Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) Chapter 624.
2. Permitting & Technical Oversight
- Act as the primary point of contact for local building departments (e.g., Clark County, City of Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas, Henderson).
- Review project blueprints, electrical system logic, and technical material takeoffs to pull necessary municipal electrical and building permits.
- Ensure all commercial field installations strictly adhere to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local code variations.
3. Field Supervision & Quality Control
- Oversee on-site technical execution for commercial B2B projects, including facility LED retrofits, commercial switchgear maintenance, and power distribution adjustments.
- Direct and enforce company field safety protocols, including strict Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures and OSHA compliance.
- Conduct final post-installation quality control inspections before handing projects over to commercial clients or city inspectors.
4. Utility Coordination & Logistics
- Collaborate with management to verify that selected LED components meet DesignLights Consortium (DLC) standards.
- Provide necessary technical documentation and field sign-offs required to secure commercial custom energy efficiency rebates through NV Energy’s PowerShift program.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Credential Requirement: Must hold an active, unencumbered Master Electrician or Journeyman Electrician certification recognized by the state of Nevada or local municipal registries.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 to 15 years of comprehensive commercial electrical trade experience, with a proven track record working on heavy commercial distribution, switchgear, and commercial lighting systems.
- Regulatory Standing: Clean history with the Nevada State Contractors Board (NSCB) with zero active or unresolved administrative disciplinary actions or complaints.
- Knowledge Base: Deep, expert-level understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local Southern Nevada building codes, and standard commercial permitting processes.
- Leadership: Strong communication and supervisory skills to direct field technicians, manage safety on active commercial job sites, and collaborate effectively with management.
- Logistics: Reliable transportation to access commercial job sites across the Las Vegas valley, and a valid Nevada driver's license.
Compensation & Benefits Structure
To protect corporate cash flow during our launch phase while respecting and rewarding your professional liability, Desert Glow LLC utilizes a structured, high-yield hybrid payment model:
- Corporate Retention Stipend: A flat monthly rate paid automatically to maintain active credential status on the corporate license, requiring zero field hours.
- Project Execution Rate: Premium hourly compensation for active on-site supervision, field labor, layout design, and permit processing.
- Alternative Structure: Option for a flat percentage Gross Project Value split on a per-job basis for mid-to-large-scale commercial warehouse contracts (mutually agreed upon prior to project mobilization).
- Benefits: This is an independent, high-compensation role during our initial launch phase. Traditional benefits (health, retirement) are not provided upfront, allowing for a maximized base hourly pay rate.

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
