Job Summary

Specialty Granules LLC (SGI) is seeking an experienced Electrical & Controls Technician II at their Plant in Blue Ridge Summit, PA. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is technically curious and demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.

Reporting to the Electrician Supervisor, the Electrical & Controls Technician II works within the Maintenance Department, partners closely with Operations to minimize Plant downtime. Job duties include but are not limited to: Troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, installation, and demolition of the plant’s electrical equipment and machinery, including motors, panels, generating equipment, lighting circuits, communication systems, etc. Maintain the facility in an electrically safe condition. Respond to process upsets with a sense of urgency. Comply with regulatory governing bodies with regard to electrical installations, mining safety, and occupational health; and with Company safe practices and established procedures. May be required to perform other miscellaneous assignments as directed. Installation of new improvement projects throughout the plant. The Technician will be required to work various shifts and weekends as assigned. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma coupled with four or more years of demonstrated experience in a continuous process atmosphere. A technical certificate or advanced degree is preferred but not required. Must have basic understanding of diagnosing and troubleshooting power and electrical controls using A.C. and D.C. voltages ranging from 6V to 480V. Must have a basic understanding o...
