FACILITIES MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN

General Definition of Work

Perform specialized technical tasks and diagnostics in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic components for City water and wastewater facilities. Perform skilled electrical work on 480-volt, and medium-voltage systems up to 4160 volts. This position operates under the moderate supervision of the assigned supervisor, with opportunities to exercise supervisory responsibilities over a small crew, ensuring the efficient and effective completion of assigned tasks.

Diagnose and troubleshoot industrial electrical components, motor controls, VFDs, PLC I/O, and SCADA. Repair and replace industrial electrical components. Install new electrical circuits and systems; Inspect electrical systems to ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code

Performs intermediate technical and skilled work in the maintenance, repair and replacement of machinery and equipment in a water and/or wastewater treatment plants; does related work as required.

Develop and prioritize work assignments; Requisition necessary equipment and materials; Maintain accurate records of time and materials. Communicate job requirements and receive instructions from the supervisor; Train and instruct unskilled and semi-skilled workers
