The position is located in the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center's Facilities Engineering Service, Electric Shop Section under the Maintenance Supervisor. The Electrician is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and the repair of the electrical/power system of the entire Butler VA Medical Center, including the safe, uninterrupted power and electrical operations of the facility, which is a very complex, potentially dangerous, and critically needed resource of the Medical Center.

Major duties include but not limited to

Electrical System Maintenance and Repair

* Works as a journeyman level electrician to maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems up to 480 volts to include, but not limited to building wiring, electrical panels, breakers, fuses, building lighting systems, campus lighting systems, emergency power systems, electric pumps/ motors, elevators, generators, alarm/ control systems, electric doors, transfer switches, transformers and any other electrical work normally performed by a Journeyman level Electrician.
