Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned. * Perform electrical repair and maintenance such as assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures for ships, barges, equipment and facilities. May repair and install telephone systems. * Install, test, and repair shipboard electrical, communication, and navigation systems. * Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose issues caused by the harsh marine environments. * Troubleshoot and repair electrical components, systems, and equipment. * Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. * Advise supervision and/or Safety Department on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. * Determine the appropriate method and required equipment required for proper electrical repair. * May be required to install conduits, run wire, and terminating. * Place conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes. * May train workers...
