Maintenance Craftsman/ElectricianDUTIES

To perform the regular duties of a maintenance craftsman in schools or other facilitiesunder the control of the school department is required. Under direction, to perform tasksinvolving manual labor and requiring the highest degree of skill in the maintenance of schoolbuildings. Performing duties requiring knowledge, skills, abilities and personal characteristics asthe following.ELECTRICALWorking in concert with electrician to assist him in all phases of his work.Knowledge of the methods and materials and equipment and the safety precautions to be taken inmaintaining the school property. This will require the knowledge and proper techniques inoperating motor vehicles, tractors and trucks under three-ton capacity.

Knowledge and propertechniques in the use of small tools relative to painting, carpentry, plumbing and electricalfixtures. To have knowledge of the maintenance and operation of low pressure boilers. To beable to repair and adjust furniture and other building equipment. To have knowledge of accidentand fire precautions in public buildings.

Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions,assigned duties. To maintain and operate pumps and motors, oil burner fans. To install, repairor maintain fences and bleachers. To install, maintain playground equipment.

To maintain andoperate univents, heating, ventilation, sound and lighting systems.In addition to the above responsible for installation and repairs ofelectrical fixtures, outlets, etc., repairs to electrical equipment on oil burners, etc., includingmixers, dishwashers, etc. in school cafeterias.
