Under general supervision, works in testing, calibration, modification, maintenance, repair and servicing of electrical and fire life safety infrastructure and facility support equipment. Installs electrical devices, wiring, and systems. Monitors and maintains safe operating condition of all electrical systems and related equipment. This job class requires knowledge of federal and state codes, laws and regulations regarding electrical and fire life safety installation, repair, and maintenance. TYPICAL DUTIES:

1. * Complies with National Electrical Code and company standards when wiring equipment, following all applicable safety policies and codes.

2. * Works standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring and electrical equipment.

3. * Uses a variety of electrician's power and hand tools, measuring and testing instruments.

4. * Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.

5. * Installs, maintains and operates electrical systems, equipment, and appliances, such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, electric gate crossings, signals, switches, or other equipment.
