Electrician

JOB The position of Electrician I/II is responsible for performing both rough and finished electrical work for Macon-Bibb County.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES *The following duties are representative of the work required for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.*

Electrician I

• Performs and or assists with installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical service and equipment for Macon-Bibb County facilities and properties.
• Performs and or assists with installing, repairing, and maintaining street lighting, interstate lighting, and park lighting owned by Macon-Bibb County.
• Performs and or assists with installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical and electronic control systems for Macon-Bibb County facilities and properties.
• Determines proper types of wiring to be used; measuring, cutting, and terminating wires.
• Responds to accident scenes involving Macon-Bibb County owned street and interstate lighting to de-energize any live conductors and clean up lighting debris.
• Ensures the proper operation and use of vehicles, equipment, and tools available to the Facilities Management Dept.
• Will be required to participate in the on-call duty rotation.
• Will be required to perform and or assist with other duties as assigned.

Electrician II

• Performs and or assists with installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical service and equipment for Macon-Bibb County facilities and properties.
• Performs and or assists with installing, repairing, and maintaining street lighting, interstate lighting, and park lighting owned by Macon-Bibb County.
