Electrician - Journeyman

Graduation from high school and four (4) years of verifiable experience in electrical repair work. Must possess a Journeyman electrician’s license. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and have and maintain an acceptable driving record. Note: Employee will be responsible for maintaining CEU’s (continuing education units) for their Journeyman or Master license if required. Code 1: Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared emergency and/or declared emergency. On an incident-by-incident basis, the employee’s Department Head will make the determination as to who will be required to work. GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB ----------------------------

Under general supervision, performs limited supervisory and skilled technical work in the maintenance and repair of electrical instruments and equipment. Work involves electrical instruments and control devices, inspecting for and repairing malfunctions, and identifying causes of malfunctions or breakdowns. Employee is also responsible for maintaining records of maintenance work performed, and for determining and recommending alterations to control system specifications to increase efficiency. Reports to the Division Manager or designee as assigned. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES --------------------------------------

Inspect, equipment for malfunctions maintenance needs and breakage and performs necessary maintenance and/or repairs; diagnoses problems and causes of equipment failures.

Diagnoses problems and repairs malfunctioning equipment; maintains electrical systems, performing routine maintenance as scheduled and repairs as necessary; maintains units as necessary.
