Electrician

Location

South Florida (Miami-Dade and Broward County preferred) Project Territory: Southeast, Southwest, and Central Florida, with travel to surrounding areas as needed. Schedule: Project-based | Part-time to Full-time | Travel Required

SO Electric is seeking dependable, experienced Electricians to perform residential and commercial electrical work throughout Florida.

This is a 1099 Independent Contractor opportunity with project-based assignments ranging from part-time to full-time hours. Projects may include local service calls, multi-day installations, and overnight travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and commercial electrical systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and specifications
• Install conduit, wiring, panels, lighting, controls, devices, and electrical equipment
• Perform electrical testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and system commissioning
• Ensure all work complies with applicable NEC, local codes, and project specifications
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate project progress
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and customers as needed
• Mentor apprentices and helpers while promoting safe work practices
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include

• 3+ years of residential and/or commercial electrical experience
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Proficiency using electrical testing equipment and troubleshooting electrical systems
• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems
