As an Electrician I, you will perform the duties of preventative and corrective maintenance of facility equipment, machinery, controls, electrical systems, and lighting. **Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)**

* Assist with preventative and corrective maintenance of facility equipment, machinery, controls, and lighting.

* Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and/or components to identify hazards, defects, and need for repair.

* Under the supervision of a journeyman level electrician, make repairs to and install electrical systems in buildings and machines, abiding by local and national codes.

* Perform other maintenance tasks as requested by the shift supervisor.

* Maintain inventory stock of electrical components, tools, and lamps.

* Maintain working knowledge of National Electrical Code, National Fire Protection Association 70E, local electrical codes, and electrical concepts and principles.

* Perform job duties in full compliance with departmental Internal Controls, policies, procedures, and regulations.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

* A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

* A minimum of two years of related experience in Commercial or Industrial electrical work is required.

* Office skills must include the ability to use standard office equipment and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
