Electrician 1 Job Summary

Performs basic maintenance and repairs of electrical or lighting systems (600 volts or less) and their components including distribution equipment, transformers, circuits, control panels, electrical system components e.g. relays, contactors, and switches and lighting fixtures. Troubleshoots issues with power and lighting. Performs preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and systems including but not limited to maintaining circuits, motors, motor controllers, switches, transformers, and related components. Assists in routine inspections of building systems and equipment. Coordinates work with other trades employees, CSU employees, and outside vendors and contractors to complete work assignments. Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities and parts inventory using computerized maintenance management system. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Electrician 2 Job Summary

Performs advanced and routine troubleshooting and diagnostics on complex electrical, lighting, and control systems and their components. Independently manages electrical or lighting maintenance projects from start to finish while maintaining a high standard of safety and quality. Ensures compliance with electrical codes, regulatory guidelines, safety regulations and institutional standards. Establishes preventative maintenance routines and performs replacement, installation and maintenance of electrical, lighting, and control systems and their components. Assists in maintaining safe and reliable operation of campus power distribution. Operates designated equipment for routine maintenance and switching operations. Assists with training, mentoring, and leading other electricians under the guidance of Crew Leader, Electrical. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
